Having completed his early training in the City of London back in the late 1980s, Daniel worked for several multi-disciplinary practices before completing his honours degree and professional examinations to become a member of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, or RICS for short, in 2000.
After gaining further experience in local government and with a housing association based in Kent, Daniel decided to take a leap of faith and set up his own practice almost twenty years ago, moving up country with his wife Ruth, a native Yorkie, ten years ago.
Quickly establishing himself as a knowledgeable and approachable professional, Daniel has supported many first-time buyers, homeowners, property developers, managers and fellow professionals to realise their aspirations, whether a straight-forward property appraisal on a modest city home, a sprawling country pile or more complex commercial premises for conversion, renovation or adaptation.
With a passion for what is commonly referred to ‘Building Pathology’ Daniel enjoys the analytical process of determining what’s actually going wrong with a building or structure, taking a holistic approach to repair where appropriate, ensuring that the asset is restored to the very best of health and the client’s investment protected for many years to come.
Preferring to work within an hour’s ride of our beautiful historic city, Daniel will often venture further afield to service existing clients, particularly where more specialist advice is required in respect of older buildings, period properties and creative design solutions.
Specialising in all things defective, Daniel also provides sound advice to clients contemplating property improvements, managing the planning process, building regulations compliance, specification and project management.
Advice and support in respect of The Party Wall Act is another string to Daniel’s bow, ensuring that clients and adjoining owners are kept fully informed throughout the design and construction process.
When not scrutinising property defects, Daniel can be found enjoying all this beautiful county has to offer, walking Tilly the working cocker, heading out to a gig, hammock camping, biking or motorcycling his way to the next adventure.
With consistently excellent reviews on Google, you can be assured that Daniel will take good care of you and your property related dilemmas, though don’t be surprised if the conversation somehow finds its way back to classic bikes, music, camping and dogs…
